Chickasaw Cultural Center

Next to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, on 184 acres of enchanting scenery, the cultural center comprises an exhibit center, research center, large-format theater, sky terrace, and the recreation of a traditional village. Chickasaw people tell their stories to preserve and record their history and culture for future generations through dramatic performances, reenactments, demonstrations and exhibits.

Wander through the inspiring Spirit Forest with its light, color and sound. Witness (better yet, participate in) a stomp dance demonstration. Step into a traditional village that features authentic architecture and gardens and various demonstrations of Chickasaw culture. The research center includes a 20,000-square-foot library dedicated not only to the study of the Chickasaw Nation but also of other tribes throughout the southeastern U.S. and collections of archives, tales, culture, Native American language and the oral history that passed from generation to generation.
